Sub-genre- Melodrama

- Daily setting
The setting has to be normal so that the drama is formed from something that will be seen as realistic as possible. Settings such as a normal traditional house, hospital room, school can be used to portray a normal life of the character. By doing these it also allows the audience to feel a connection with the character and have a bond. On the setting props such as flowers, bed, so basically the things we use daily will be set out on the setting to give the setting a more natural look. We will have 3 setting changes, two houses and a hospital room will be used, and for those each settings props such as chairs, tables, tv will be used in the house to give it a comfortable view, but the hospital will be white and props such as a heart monitor, hospital gowns, beds will be used to create a serious look. Both settings and props will give a different vibe to the audience and contrast the reality with dream.                                                                                                     
                     
- Casual characters
The main character along with the rest of the characters will have to look as casual as possible so that the genre is portrayed. Characters can portray this normality through the props they'll be wearing and surrounding, costumes such as jeans and a casual top can be worn, by doing this and making the beginning and middle scene casual we will foreshadow the later events as the audience will be left confused.

- Problems that needs to be solved
During a melodrama film a problem will occur that will have to be solved by the main character, they will either solve the problem by themselves or with the help of their friends. In our film the problem will be acceptance of death. This problem will be solved by herself and her friend.

- Emotional
The problems that occur will bring emotion and strong feelings. Melodrama does this to get the audience to feel sympathetic and engaged to the film even more and not loose focus half way through the film. Our film will show this towards the end when the problem is solved however the truth brings the main character back to reality, the audience will feel this emotion and acceptance along with the character.
