Lola
Film duration: 5 minutes
Synopsis
A 16 year old girl named Lola is involved in a car accident which results in her death which she is unaware of. She appears to 'wake up' in a hospital bed with her best friend stood at the bottom of the bed. Her friend encourages her to get out of bed and sneak out of the hospital with her all whilst her friend is softly trying to get Lola to realise her death.
They agree to go straight to her parents house to surprise them with her release. When she arrives, she hears them arguing in the kitchen but they don't seem to notice her presence. In frustration, Lola leaves the house wanting to go to her boyfriends house and see him instead. Along the way, both friends come across a memorial sight which is covered with police tape, flowers and cards where a car accident had clearly been. Lola picks a card up and reads that the person who was killed at the site was also called 'Lola' and thinks its a terrible coincidence. Along the way to the boyfriends house, she notices marks on her friends neck which she questions but then dismisses. When she arrives she knocks on the door. No response comes from the knocks however when she presses her ear to his door she hears a female voice. Full of anger, she realises something is wrong and runs back to the hospital where she originally woke up.
Lola runs back into the hospital room to see her parents now over the hospital bed she was once laid in which has a body in it covered by a sheet. She runs over and lifts the sheet from the body to realise its her own dead body lying there. From realisation, she has a flash back of the car accident she had moments from her death. Flashes of the parents actual conversation are shown about how they are dealing with Lola's death. A flash of her friends body hung in the air is shown which relates back to the marks on her neck. A flash of her boyfriend talking to a female councillor is shown to relate back to Lola thinking he was seeing another girl. Lola then realises her death and her friend is supportive to her of this.
